This blog is dedicated to travel & flyfishing, to the nature of the Siberia & Pacific coast of Northern Asia, wilderness trips, and environment protection. I think, flyfishing is the top of sport fishing - the most complicated and "fair" fishing method. Flyfishing is for those who is aware of the fragility and vulnerability of nature. When I can not fly fish (too cold), I tie flies and fish through the ice. My websites are http://flyfishingrussia.com/ and http://xapuyc.ru/

Testing of an interesting new rod
In summer-fall 2011 I was able to test an interesting new rod of the "trout spey" class. The 3-4 wt 5-piece rod is lightweight (122g or 4.3 oz); it was made by a Russian firm Kola Salmon. It could be also used with 5 or 6 weight single-handed lines. I am using this rod with dry and wet flies, streamers, and nymphs.

New book on the flyfishing the Russian Far East
In 2007 I have published a book on the flyfishing the Russian Far East (in Russian). For the last years I was working on the English edition of this 300+ page color book. Finally the work is coming to the end. I am sure that in 2012 it will be printed and offered to the readers. How will it look? I do not know it yet. The cover of the Russian edition is below.
